Speak With Animals 5e Familiar
Im ignoring the interpretation of simple ideas for this thread.
Speak with animals 5e familiar. Would it have to change form to speak to other animals or would there be one kind of Beast Speech that all animals would understand considering that Speak With Animals works on all beasts. Dungeons and Dragons DD Fifth Edition 5e Spell - Speak with Animals - You gain the ability to comprehend and verbally communicate with beasts for t. In many ways its the simplest option and hey its magic so no need to worry too much over realism.
There are two approaches as i see it. The reason is that familiars allow a whole new section of movements that ignore many of the restrictions of the action economy in the game. And familiars are intelligent.
If you wanted to use that in 5E Id probably do something like an animal knows a number of tricks equal to your Animal Handling bonus min 1. The only agency the player has is choosing the number of creatures and the cr cap you can actually still get things below that cr. First one is to literally give them a voice and speech for the benefit of the spell.

You might be able to persuade a beast to perform a small favor for. If the master is 7th level or higher a familiar can communicate with animals of approximately the same kind as itself including dire varieties. The knowledge and awareness of many beasts is limited by their intelligence but at minimum beasts can give you information about nearby locations and monsters including whatever they can perceive or have perceived within the past day.
